Lace

Aha, some more lace! Yay. This time, in pants form. I love these so much, and I was going to wear these for the holiday and then didnt at the last minute. Gah. So how did you guys like my new boyfriend? He knows just how to capture my vibe. :P

Tell me where I got the inspiration for the picture below, m'kay? Get it right and Ill give you, as Tavi says, "Blogger Points." Hint: the pose doesnt really match the picture Im thinking of, specifically, so its more the essence of the thing, instead of the thing itself. Got it?

Finally I got my boots back from the shoe repair man. I love the leather of them, and told the man specifically not to shine them. I like the rustic look. Thats just me.

Went to Borders armed with many many giftcards. I saw the Olsen's book Influence and skimmed through it. It was good but my mom thought it was a bit much, and truthfully didnt buy it cause I think what was making me look at it was the "hype". But, I did come back with some books that Im really into. Will share later.

Denim Details and Marc Jacobs

EDIT: So, yeah, stupid photobucket made everything nuts with my pictures and what not. Bear with me, the older posts and photos will be back on the 7th. However, because Im super duper sneaky like that, I have another account, and posts will resume as normal, but if youre looking to go back into the archives id hold off for about 9 days. Sounds like a long time? Yeah I know, but Im not gonna give the photobucket people my money for being lame. For now, I will have only 2 posts on the main page, just cause I think the "BANDWITH EXCEEDED" banner is kinda glaring and just annoying. Thanks for understanding.

These capris have a lovely little detail on the back of them. They have 3 buttons on the bottom of the pant and I just love them. Gosh. I have nothing to say. Oh, well yes, I do. I hope the people in Mumbai, India dont suffer any more and things get better. It is just awful whats going on.

In other news, I got a really epic tripod that apparently was just downstairs without me knowing it and I couldve had better pictures this whole blog time. Psh.

Outfit

Its kinda odd, but doesnt it just seem completely weird to title a post "Outfit".. ? Its just so "duh" that it kinda makes me want to backspace and create some sort of cheesy one liner that would repel more readers than the even lameness of the current one could. However, I will exercise great self-control and keep myself from moving the mouse over to the title bar and deleting it. Good, Stylish Wanderer.

Readers: How was your thanksgiving?
Me: Good. I filled half of my day with peeling apples in an apple peeler that was quite epic, cut myself in the process, and my uncles dog went missing, which was then found and then taken to the emergency room, to find out she was acting all weird with tremors because she ate some grapes may or may not be okay. I played Phase 10 [really epic card game] almost the entire night with some adults, excusing myself from the only company in the party that was close to my age. I stuffed myself and had a stomach ache. Also, Im not fond of turkey. Overall, it was good.
Readers: umm...
Me: Oh, Im sorry, how was yours?

Wanna hear something strange?? Karla wore these lace high waisted pants for her holiday, and I have a pair that I was 99.9% going to wear and then didnt, and Tavi wore her new Docs for the holidays and guess what I wore? Yeah. You see the pictures. The world is filled with ifs, and whens, and dos, and donts, and shouldves, and haves, and dids. Sigh.
Photobucket
I promise, though, to wear those pants quite soon, cause as you can imagine they are bomb, although I cant imagine youll come back, after Ive just slammed you with 123123123 pictures of my apple escapades.

I Get Creative For Once

There once was a fairy named Imelda. She lost her wings a long time ago but she still lived happily.
She only had one dress, a lovely Moschino Cheap & Chic garment that is a size to large, but she wears it proudly. The cream perfectly accents her brown hair.

She had a jumping mouse as a friend, and they would sit together and read books or look at the stars. The mouse lived in a lovely yellow flower.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Then one day she went and her friend the jumping mouse was gone! She was so distressed. Imelda knew that something was very very wrong. And decided to go on a journey and find him! She ran fast, and ran, and ran. After a while she had to rest.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Where could he be? She wondered.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
She didnt want to give up. Jumping Mouse was her friend. She had to search harder. And so she did.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
And then she found something. Mouse's jewels! He left them as a clue. She must be close! And so she was. She found the secret Tall Stick Castle in the shadows and knew this place must be sinister.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
She found her friend locked in a cold cell high in the branches of the castle's trees. She pried the bars open and went running away with her mouse friend into the sunset. When Imelda took her friend home her mouse friend was so excited to be back and away from the evil clutches of the castle, he jumped for joy. And they lived happily ever after!

The Sweater Effect

Sometimes I wonder what the definition for "stylish" is. (Before you keep reading, I just wanna say, Im not rambling, these pictures do have something to do with this post, and the title is completely awesome.) Or, more so, what can be thought of as "stylish." Im not talking "fashion" here. This is style. When I think "fashion" I think "runway," and the only way to be "fashionable" is to be one of the models walking down the catwalk, and any inspiration that stems from that is purely "style." Just because you took inspiration from the latest Comme des Garçons (look I can do the little "ç" as opposed to "c"!) collection doesnt mean youre instantly defined "fashionable." I half think that the only way you can be "fashionable" is by being approved by Marc Jacobs or nodded at by Anna Wintour.
Photobucket
Then yet half of me thinks that that is incredibly superficial, and just plain wrong. Somehow I wanna say that "fashion" and "style" should not be something that you are judged or approved on, but I think we both know that that is not true. I think that anyone says that their style should not be approved is someone that is just an artist. Its an art to them. I know of a few self-proclaimed artistes that are bloggers. Im not saying they are bad, I just know Im not one to make a blog and parade around in wearable imagery. Im no statue, I aint a picasso. Im here to show you my everyday outfits and what makes me giggle.
Photobucket
Okay, now Im just rambling. To get on with the point. What outfit passes the line from "wearing something" to "stylish" ....? What defines it for you? To tell you the answer, or at least in my head, let mepresent The Sweater Effect. I think you can guess what this means. My line from "wearing just anything" to "stylish" appears and is crossed over when a person wears a sweater as a shirt. There is just something about it. Its my fallback outfit. Any time I really wanna wear jeans but not just a plain ole tshirt, I reach for one of my handy sweaters. They are super comfy and look oh so wonderful when belted.
Photobucket
These pictures posted are a few of my favorite "instant style" pieces. I love them. (And I feel so avante garde when taking these pictures this way :P.) I think many people would not agree with me. I can guess that she would think putting on a tall pair of heels would do it. And she would profess anything with Rick Owens in it has crossed over into the style border.
Photobucket
Getting back to my first point, maybe, when you become truly fashionable, or stylish, is the day you can tell the difference between the two.
What do you think? What is the line between the two things, "just wearing something" and "style?" What are your opinions on my post? Think Im insane? Tell me!
