General Direction

I originally had a long soliloquy to go along with this outfit, but Im now listening to Guys and Dolls (specifically Fugue for the Tinhorns) and I said to myself "who wants to read a somewhat depressing monologue about how I havent found my style yet ?"

So, Ill just say this:
  • I have discovered that I am in love with all things men inspired. I want tweeds, I want suspenders, I want linen shirts. I am fascinated with the idea of a feminine women in mens clothes. (Think red lips and a tuxedo) For 2010 Id like to dive into that world, and see where it takes me. And not only that, but I am soo looking forward to going there. I cant wait to share my exploits into women's mens fashion on this here blog. Get ready for menswear inspired editorials and just all around goodness. Guess what? Im excited to get dressed for the day now.
...and...
  • WHEN? 2010!

Wearing my mom's coat, Gap pocket tshirt, H+M leather belt (pulled from cords), Adina Mills crystal ring, spiral tights (courtesy of American Apparel), Mr. Kate happy wrinkles necklace, flea market wool shorts.

Le Cinema

Having seen in the past week Lady Gaga, Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Up in the Air, (saw it this evening), I can safely say Sherlock was the best entertainment.

Dont get me wrong, Lady Gaga is a phenomenal entertainer, but the concert was too loud. I dont care what you say, Id rather save myself from going deaf. Bad Romance, though, the last song in the concert was totally amazing. Everyone was so into it. I could feel the energy bouncing off the ceiling.

As far as Avatar, I heard we shouldve seen it in 3D, because apparently we didnt get the full experience. I dont know. I thought there was way too much violence. And I couldve written a book with all the corny lines in it. But the images were pretty beautiful.

Up in the Air was definitely a movie for older people, I only say this because right now Im at a point in my life where I want happy Meg Cabot romances. The ending was kind of depressing.

To sum it all up SHERLOCK HOLMES WAS DA BOMB. The music was great, Robert Downey Jr.'s performance was spot on. It was a ride like no other. I cant wait for the sequel.

Hot Rum

Check out my new bling.

Hope you all had magical Christmases.

Mine was completely fun filled and the memories will last forever. My family threw a party last night and it was such a blast. I just came home from from friends party also, which was really fun.

Oh and best christmas present? My new Macbook. That one was a shocker.

Blue Icicle

Ive owned this jacket since I was little. Crazy how things stay in your life that way.

And look! My Rodarte for Target dress. I bought two others, which Ill definitely wear soon, but I had to put this on as soon as possible since I dont normally dabble in the color of baby blue and I wanted to try it out. Ill write more about the collection later.

I went to the flea market on Sunday and shot this photo:

I loved the colors.

By the way, I saw Avatar. Dont go see it. It was wayyy too much. James Cameron probably had a ball while making it. Oh, and Sam Worthington is fine.

Green Chair + Red Fence

Currently watching a biography on Will Smith with my cousin. Crazy stuff going on there.

Both my leather bag and floral coat were Hannukah gifts, and boy they are my favorite items right now. First of all, the handbag. Ive wanted it since I saw it in the Marc by Marc store on Bleecker Street in New York this past summer. It is more beautiful than I could have expected. The butter leather is to die for and the hardware is just....ahhhhh. And the coat; I like to call it the floral carpet coat. Its an amazing piece of vintage, though, despite what I call it.

My mom and I went christmas shopping, (actually not really, we kinda just went to Target where I bought 3 Rodarte dresses for myself), today. We were driving around and spotted this green chair sticking out of a blue dumpster. We stopped and I pulled it out and then we had a minor photoshoot. I really like the bright green in the photos.

Vintage floral coat from Slow on Melrose Ave., Marc by Marc Jacobs slate leather bag, American Apparel disco pants (I freaking love these pants! I want them in navy soooo badly), Sam Edelman boots, american apparel tank top and black lace leotard.

Cheers

(Im injecting the post with some holiday flavor with the title "Cheers" because clearly we are not getting snow in LA. Imagine clinking bubbly champagne in the living room with the tree smelling all wonderful and people laughing really hard and youve got what Im going for)

Anyway, Im in love with corduroy pants.
This is now my second pair, my first pair being the ones I bought from H&M a month ago. It was just by chance that last weekend I went to the flea market and stumbled upon these evergreen beauties. I had to haggle with the insane seller there (seriously, he was demented) but I just had to own them. So now they are mine!

P.s. How wicked is this Gaga photo? Also, I did a little interview here at one of my favorite inspiration blogs, and I also made an Urban Outfitters.com wishlist here.
Vintage pants, American Apparel u-neck dress, navajo beading and leather belt, Calvin Klein heels, and Comme de Garçons x H+M polka dot sweater.
