Bright Shiny Things

This past spring break I had the pleasure of finally spending time with my long time interwebz friend Kate of Mr. Kate jewelry. The last time we saw each other (and coincidentally the first time we met) was a complete fluke. We ran into each other at the flea market as we were both hanging out with other people; she with Victoria Justice, and me with someone whom would later become my ex-boyfriend. Suffice to say, we really didn't have enough time to say hello. So, after almost two years and one ring collaboration later, we decided to spend an afternoon at the Soho House in West Hollywood. If you have never been to the Soho House write it down on your List of Things To Do Before You Die. There are several locations, so get 'er done.

Anyways, the hang out session was delightful and it was lovely to talk about boys, blogs and... bracelets? Sorry, the AP English Language student in me is really popping out that alliteration for a rhetorical strategy. Promise it'll calm down once AP tests are over. Anyway, I came home with a couple of pretty things from Kate's new collection Days of Ore and then ordered a couple more a few days later. Thought I'd share because they are so beautiful. Oh and ready for my joke? Days of Ore? It should be called Days of MORE! Badum-cha! But in all seriousness, it really should be called that, because the Kaila ring is actually the most amazing piece I own right now. I'm obsessed. I desperately want it in the rose gold color.

In other news:
My birthday is in less than a month (May 13!), AP tests are approaching way too fast for my sake, as always I'm thinking about college and the future, and I can't wait for what summer holds. These next few months are going to streak by. And guess why? Because soon I'll have a car. Cue dramatic music.

Coachella Day 3 - Green & Gold

I didn't get the chance to take photos of Day One and Two of Coachella last weekend, but I did get my third and final outfit: this super simple and stunning cut-out linen Seneca Rising dress. I bought it last year and it seriously hasn't seen enough sunshine. Wearing it Sunday kind of cemented it's awesomeness, though. It's perfect for hot weather. When it got cool at night I just threw on a vintage Hawaiian shirt, which my mom had just bought me in Palm Springs. Hawaiian shirts are my new obsession, I can't get enough. Will post some photos soon of my swelling collection.

Thank you to all the sweet readers that said hi during the festival, it was really nice to meet all of you! Hope you had as much fun as I had.

Love these two gold rings by the way. The first earthy-dotted looking one is called the Kaila and is from Mr. Kate's new collection Days of Ore. I literally want it in every color. The second is called the Artemis ring and is from a LA based brand called Prey, which has such a beautiful line of empowering jewelry. These pieces together make
such a good duo.

Dungeons & Dragons

I lost my cable chord in the last week and a half, so technical difficulties were preventing me from posting, but here I am! I'm currently in Palm Springs for Coachella this weekend but I had to share these photos I took last Saturday. I love this outfit, I've worn in three times in the last month.

I remember a couple years ago Nylon named Japan the preeminent place for denim and fashion trends, so I ruthlessly scoured street style blogs in Tokyo and such. During that time, big tassel necklaces were HUGE. When this tassel piece mysteriously appeared in my room and seamlessly coordinated its colors with this silk Citron jacket I felt like it was fate. By the way, how AMAZING IS THIS JACKET? IT'S MY FAVORITE PIECE RIGHT NOW, (although I seem to say that about everything I post.)

By the way, if you're going to the music fest this weekend, don't be afraid to say hi! This is going to be the best three days. I'll try to post some photos tomorrow or the next day from all the fun. I am so psyched. I can already feel like it's going to be 10x better than last year. And last year was great.

Skeletons

Really quick post before I run off to Santa Barbara with some friends. I'm literally racing right now. The past couple weeks have been heaven as I've figured out that life isn't so black and white, and there is always room for fun in any corner. Maybe that sounds a little cryptic but all I really mean to say is that I'm the happiest I've been in a long time, and it's wonderful.

These shots were taken a couple weeks ago. This was a school outfit and I just wanted to point out the little details. I love the different textures here; the denim and the waffle knit and the black cotton...

Hope everyone is having a magical spring break! Happy April!
